Èto was my bebia [grandmother], a spirited woman from the country of Georgia.
I met her for the first time in my early twenties, and during that visit, she gifted me a pair of gold earrings. She was a woman of humble means and I later learned that she spent what little she had to buy them - a quiet gesture of love.

Those earrings remain one of my most treasured possessions. Not because of their material value, but because of the sentiment they hold.
